    SAGEFOUR : THE CORAL STORY

Every year, millions of some of Africa’s brightest minds graduate from Nigeria’s universities (tertiary institutions) to scramble for the limited slots available for employment. No system, not even the world’s leading economies, can completely engage its graduates through employment and other meaningful projects. Our system is not immune to this challenge except that, its own version of the challenge wears another cloudy robe.

Our challenges as a nation for today and the decades ahead will require, revolutionary innovation, breakthrough thinking, spirit of enterprise, and a culture of ethical leadership - people who boast of impeccable character, selfless-social reformers and are sincere agents of transformation. Our young people need an ecosystem that can stimulate their genius and sustain these types of conversations to recreate their mindsets for optimal productivity and national development.

We invented the world’s fastest supercomputers, crafted the world’s most expensive suites and recently produced the world’s richest black entrepreneur.  The future, progress and prosperity of Nigeria significantly depends on the contributions of our young people who are diligently innovating in obscure corners, ‘enterprising’ in unchartered terrains and leading life-changing projects.

The big question is, what are we doing today to encourage these young entrepreneurs and innovators who will reposition the growth and advancement of our country in the next few years?

The Coral Awards is platform to encourage (in the most enviable ways possible), innovative feats, spirit of enterprise and exemplary reformation by young persons across the continent. This is in the hope that the only way we can predict our nation’s growth is to encourage and grow our young people today.
