Making History Naija, in conjunction with the University of Ilorin Students Union has set about breaking a Guinness world record. The Guinness World Record to be broken is the most people opening can drinks simultaneously at the same venue. The current record is held by Career Consulting Co. Ltd. achieved by 1,149 people at Urayasu, Japan on the 24th of January 2016.
The University of Ilorin plans to break this record with over 3000 people, mostly students from the University. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 24th of May, 2017 at the University of Ilorin Sports Centre.
Each person will be given a can drink for free and everyone will open theirs after a signal is given. Every activity on this day will be recorded on camera using drone-assisted cameras and strategically positioned camcorder.
Top officials from the University of Ilorin and Kwara State Government are expected to grace this very special event. Also, top artists and comedians in Kwara State are to entertain the participants during the counting process.
