FG to build N1.9bn library for UNILAG, N1.3bn hall for UI

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday approved a contract for the reconstruction of a new library at the University of Lagos for N1.935 billion.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, whO disclosed this to State House reporters after the FEC meeting, said the library built for the institution in 1964 had neither been expanded nor modernised.
The minister stated that the new library, to be completed within 64 weeks, would augment the old one.
He said the council also approved the construction of a postgraduate hall, to be known as International House, for the University of Ibadan at the cost of N1.3bn to be completed in 44 weeks.
The minister noted that both contracts would be handled by a local contractor.
