Flames broke out at around 7:30pm at Aja-Nwachukwu hostel on the 1st of May 2015
A witness said that the fire started as a result of an electric spark in one of the rooms. The fire was said to be first spotted by residents of another hostel (Akintola).
Another witness said the hall governor- Rachael, a fourth year student of Veterinary Medicine started fighting the fire before the fire department arrived the scene.
The effect of the flames are shown in the area enclosed by a red circle in the image above.
Subsequent to this fire outbreak, the school authorities are all out to ensure an end to the usage of electrical appliances and also that of gas cooker.
But in the end no one was hurt.
